Social housing allocations policy survey

Date Published : 25 August 2010

The allocations policy is a framework for how social housing is allocated to people - the council and  housing associations in the borough are reviewing the policy.

Our consideration in drafting a new allocation policy will be;

  • To create a banding system that prioritises people in high need
  • To deliver a system of choice that all the housing associations in the borough can support and sign up to
  • To give consideration to what should be taken into account when individuals and families apply for social housing.

We would like your help to identify what circumstances should be given priority or preference for re-housing.

Please take a few minutes to complete this short questionnaire. www2.walsall.gov.uk/consultations/allocationsbanding/allocations

Following the consultation period your views will be used to inform a draft allocation policy prior to approval by Walsall Council Cabinet members in November 2010.

You can find out more about the consultation and download a .pdf version of the questionnaire by visiting our website www.walsall.gov.uk/housing_news_events
