Recycling collection
You will be surprised how little you throw away once you start to recycle more.
We will
- Send you an information pack telling you about service changes and a calendar showing your collection days if we need to alter them for any reason.
- Empty the smaller grey bin you use for your rubbish, this is emptied every week.
- Empty your green bin for recycling plastic, cardboard, newspapers and magazines, cans and tins, and glass bottles and jars - every two weeks.
We need you to
- Tell us if you have more than six people in the house and think you will struggle with the smaller bin. You might be eligible for a standard size (240 litre) grey bin for rubbish that can’t be recycled. Please telephone 01922 654141 or look on the website at www.walsall.gov.uk/newbins for an application form. Proof of occupancy is required.
- Tell us if you have a medical condition and generate large amounts of medical waste, you can apply for a standard grey bin. Please telephone 01922 654141 or look on the website at www.walsall.gov.uk/newbins for an application form. Proof of medical condition is required.
- You don’t need to do anything if you are currently registered for assisted collections (the bin men pull your bin out for you).
