CC Strategy and Action Plan 2008-2012
Please note this strategy and action plan is currently being updated and should be published on this website late December/early January 2011.
The process to develop a Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan for Walsall Council commenced in autumn 2006 following an approach from the Energy Saving Trust (EST) to take part in their local authority one-to-one programme. A case study has since been produced entitled 'Clarity on combating climate change' which can be found on EST's website via the link below.
A series of workshops and presentations followed to engage members, officers of the council, representatives from the Walsall Partnership and Walsall Environment Forum. Output from these workshops was used to develop an initial draft action plan and strategy. Other consultees engaged in the consultation process included UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP), the Environment Agency, Accord Housing, Caldmore Housing Group and the Sustainable Development Officers Network.
This Action Plan covers both adaptation and mitigation measures.
